Ultra Pure Water Systems: Customized Applications
Münster: Institute for Biochemistry and Biotechnology of plants
| Task: 25 l/min high purity water to feed the washing machine Solution: An OPTILAB HF-System feeds a buffer tank. If the level control indicates that the tank is full, the washing machine will be started. During downtime high purity water is recirculated through the system, in order to keep the quality. A three-way valve allows to tap water manually. |
Herborn: Institute for Microecology
| Task: Automatic supply of high purity water for a pipette robot. Solution: The Astacus system feeds a tank with a level switch. As the level changes high purity water is produced to fill the tank, thus there is no downtime of the robot caused by of lack of water. More info about the Institute for Microecology. |
Dortmund: Prot@gen
| Task: Pyrogenfree water at a flowrate of 5 l/min and a feed of 10 µS/cm, consuming minimum labspace. Protagen. Solution: An OPTILAB HF- System incorporating a pretreatment step is mounted on the wall. In order to insure ease of operation the remote control unit is installed underneath the system. The MemTap-unit is mounted on top of a dispenser arm, so that predefined volumes can be tapped, preventing overfilling of the containers. The quality of feed water is continuously checked to insure, that only water of the accepted quality enters the system helping to optimize the capacity of the purification cartridges.

| Task: Production of ultrapure water with minimized particle contamination for colloid research using PCS and LIBD 2 Solution: Because of limited space, an Astacus Ultrapure Water System is installed underneath the hood. A pretreatment step removes ions from drinking water. The MCF unit removes colloids from the feed water prolonging the lifetime of the purification modules. To insure comfortable handling the PureTap dispenser is installed at operating level.
