Cell culture is optimised to harvest more cells or get higher yields of product like recombinant proteins or monoclonal antibodies.

Nutrients and oxygen in the circulating medium readily diffuse through the capillary walls to nourish the cells that grow on the outer side of the hollow fibres and in the extra capillary space (ECS). Metabolic waste and inhibitory factors are dialyzed away from the cells. High molecular weight products are concentrated in the ECS. Cells are protected from shear forces by the walls of the hollow fibres.
We offer modules that allow attachment of endothelial cells to the inner surface of the hollow fibre. In this physiological environment they grow with the typical cell morphology and investigation of adaptation and co culture with other cell types can take place.
Dosis depending effects of pharmaceutical substances can be tested easily because you can prove appearance of markers in the cell culture medium.
