Customized Applications

MPI for molecular physiolgy, Dortmund

Labwater

Task: Supplying labwater for a research institute in which consumption differs significantly.

Solution: Redundant AquaRO systems producing 2 x 200 l/d. The frequency controlled double pump station ensures that a continuous recirculation with minimized energy input can is achieved. The second system starts depending on time or on the remaining volume in the reservoirs.

MPI for molecular cellbiology and genetics, Dresden

Labwatersystem

Task: Supply of labwater to laboratories and steam production

Solution: Combined RO/EDI system. Reverse osmosis produces 3500 l/h at < 10 µS/cm to feed the steam production and an EDI-component, which produces 1000 l/h at < 0,5 µS/cm. The RO permeate is stored in a separate reservoir. The sensor controlled duplex softener protects the whole equipment from fluctuations in the drinking water quality.

Labwatersystem

Task: Local DI water supply at a conductivity below 0,5 µS/cm consuming minimum space

Solution: EDI compact producing 20 l/h feeding a 300l reservoir, minimized temperature increase using a frequency controlled booster pump. A UV system to insure low TOC-level. Complete unit is integrated into the lab furniture.

MPI for chemical ecology, Jena

Labwatersystem

Task: High consumption of DI-water < 20 µS/cm and a significantly lower need of labwater.

Solution:Splitting of the 2 steps in an EDI-system. After passing the reverse osmosis step there is a tank that is filled with 1500 l/h. This water < 20 µS/cm is used to feed steam production and the autoclaves. It also feeds the EDI-component, that purifies 200 l/h labwater to < 1 µS/cm.·

Labwatersystem

Task: Production of DI water from drinking water , great variation in consumption

Solution: OPTIRO 15 feeding a 60 l pressure tank, where the DI-water is stored to cover the peak consumption.

The construction is simple, because further components like a booster pump, a level control, a venting system or a tank overflow are not needed. The pressure of this tank is sufficient to supply additional users. The stored volume can be adjusted to actual needs.
